7th World Conference on Research Integrity | 2022

Read more about the upcoming conference focused on “Fostering Research Integrity in an Unequal World”.

eLife is pleased to be a media partner of the 7th World Conference on Research Integrity (WRCI) taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from May 29 to June 1, 2022. This year’s conference theme, “Fostering Research Integrity in an Unequal World”, is particularly relevant for the first WCRI to be hosted in Africa. Discussions will range from issues around authorship, publication, and use of research metrics, to how to build equity into research and how education and training of best research practices can be achieved in low-resource settings.

The conference programme boasts several high-profile speakers including Professor Thuli Madonsela, Law Trust Chair in Social Justice at the University of Stellenbosch, Dr John Nkengasong, Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and Miriam Sabin, Senior Editor at The Lancet.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be a hybrid model of both virtual and in-person attendance. The conference organisers are committed to, where possible, ensuring maximum inclusion of both groups in networking and interactive events.
