eLife Labs now welcomes guest experiments in science communication

eLife Labs is a platform for the development of innovative technologies to accelerate the writing, publishing and sharing of scientific breakthroughs. As of today, Labs will now be open to showcase the work of external developers working on new tools for online scientific communication.

Scientists publishing at eLife are sophisticated service users, often interested in any development that improves any part of the process of authoring papers, publishing, sharing and monitoring the impact of their discoveries.

We therefore want eLife Labs to be a meeting place where innovators passionate about accelerating scientific discoveries, and curious scientists and publishers interested in testing the new tools, can finally come together.

Developers looking to showcase their prototypes, demos and works-in-progress here at eLife Labs will benefit from eLife’s network of scientists, authors and editors, extending their technology’s reach and helping them to develop better tools. Trialling a solution on Labs will also help create awareness of the product ahead of its launch, and gauge its level of interest and demand.

If you are a developer seeking to promote a trial of your new development or host it at eLife Labs, contact Ian Mulvany, eLife Head of Technology.

If you’re interested in taking part in one of the experiments, please visit eLife Labs.
