eLife welcomes four Senior Editors

eLife welcomes four leading scientists, with expertise from across the life sciences and biomedicine, to its editorial board.

At eLife, working scientists make all editorial decisions. Our Senior Editors handle all initial decisions, often deciding whether to send a manuscript for peer review in consultation with Reviewing Editors or external experts as needed.

With more than 700 new submissions every month, we continue to expand the editorial board to meet the growing demand.

We warmly welcome the four Senior Editors who have joined us since September 2016:

  • Jonathan Cooper, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
  • Richard Ivry, University of California, Berkeley
  • Didier Stainier, Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research
  • Gisela Storz, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development

Our Senior Editors are supported by a team of around 300 Reviewing Editors, who comment on new submissions and manage the consultative peer-review process. The full list of eLife editors is online at https://elifesciences.org/about#leadership
