In their research article -- Knockdown of hypothalamic RFRP3 prevents chronic stress-induced infertility and embryo resorption -- Geraghty et al. from the University of California, Berkeley explore the molecular basis for the link between stress and infertility. They find that by knocking down a single gene, they can stop stress from causing female infertility and miscarriage - in rats.
