eLife welcomes seven Senior Editors

Leading scientists in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology, Cell Biology, Genes and Chromosomes, Human Biology and Medicine, and Neuroscience are helping eLife to expand.

Having started publishing in 2012, eLife is now receiving nearly 600 new submissions each month. Without the space constraints associated with print journals, we have expanded the editorial board significantly to accommodate this growth. A team of Senior Editors is supported by a 260-strong Board of Reviewing Editors.

We are very pleased to welcome the following Senior Editors since June 2015:

  • Rick Aldrich, The University of Texas at Austin
  • Harry Dietz, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
  • Ivan Dikic, Goethe University
  • Kevin Struhl, Harvard Medical School
  • Jessica Tyler, Weill Cornell Medical College
  • David van Essen, Washington University in St Louis
  • Gary Westbrook, Vollum Institute

On joining eLife’s team of Senior Editors, Jessica Tyler said, “I found it inspiring that eLife was making innovative changes to the nature of peer review and publishing, such that I wanted to be a part of helping it succeed and reset the norm for open and fair scientific publication.”
