If you're an early-career researcher, you can now apply for an eLife travel grant to help present your work at a scientific meeting of your choice
eLife’s pilot travel grants programme aims to help early-career scientists get exposure and recognition for their work among leading scientists in their field.
All scientists within five years of graduation, who are pursuing their research in life sciences or biomedicine, and have authored or co-authored a research paper published (or accepted for publication) at eLife are eligible to apply.
Travel grants of up to $1,000 are offered to allow the recipient to participate in a scientific meeting of their choice and disseminate their current research through either oral or poster presentation. Applicants who have had an abstract of high scientific merit already accepted for presentation at the meeting will be treated with priority.
Grants will be awarded twice in 2016. The first application deadline is Monday, 29th February 2016. Decisions will be made by a committee of eLife editors and early-career advisers, and will be announced in the week commencing 14th March.
To capture the professional development outcomes of the programme, eLife asks grant recipients to provide feedback about their learning experience at the events.
